I believe the saddest word in the English language is "hopeless." Hope gets us through a crisis and allows us to endure a tragedy. When King David struggled with depression, what did he tell his troubled soul? "Put your hope in God." Over and over again, that was his message to himself. "Put your hope in God." Is your heart heavy? Is your soul downcast? Put your hope in God and determine to praise Him in your spirit.
