Brought Out to Go In / Joshua 5:1-9 / Daniel Bentley / October 21, 2020
The Lord always brings us out in order to bring us in. He brought the Israelites out of bondage and slavery in Egypt, then brought them into freedom in Canaan. Between those two places, they journeyed through a place called the wilderness. They crossed the Jordan River; their faith in God grew, and Joshua was established as a leader. They all learned, the battle belongs to the Lord. They had to learn to be free. Even though God had set them free, many of them were struggling to accept their new identity as sons and daughters. Their identity as slaves was so ingrained. How wide is God’s love? Wide enough to cover all your sin. How deep is God’s love? Deep enough to reach into the lowest hell to save us. Let that love heal you. Let it roll away your reproach. Run to Him. Run to Jesus and be set free!
