“Which one of us is the greatest?” was a constant topic of discussion among the disciples, for it is mentioned often in the Gospels. Jesus has just spoken with the disciples about His coming suffering and death, but they weren’t listening. You can imagine the disciples waiting for Jesus to name the greatest man among them.
Yet He totally bypasses them and brings a little child into their midst, as the example of true greatness. The Bible describes and identifies God’s people with many names, but more than any other, we are called God’s Children! We can be child-like without being childish!
