Jesus is clearly teaching that God’s forgiveness has no end. Love keeps no record of wrongs. The world’s worst prison is surely the prison of an unforgiving heart. If we refuse to forgive others we are only imprisoning ourselves which results in our own torment. We will not get through life without being offended. Not possible. But the tragedy of unforgiveness is that it hurts us, not the other person. Jesus prayed, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do." What forgiveness is NOT: not minimizing the seriousness of the offense, not always reconciliation, not fair, not impossible.
